Philippines, OUR Philippines

My beloved fellow Filipinos :

Our country is under the microscope at the moment. Every inch of every move is sharply scrutinized by our critics. The whole world is standing by for us to make another wrong move so be very EXTRA CAREFUL what you do, what you permit to do, and what you decide next, Mr. President. We may further ignite an already burning ember and I fear if not extinguished the soonest possible time, this fire might consume us all. But this is not just a one-man country. We all have to contribute to the betterment of land.

Filipinos, do not just pray for the Philippines for we have more than plenty of prayers already, let’s DO SOMETHING to alleviate ourselves from this turmoil we find ourselves in. DO SOMETHING other blame anyone you can think of just to somehow clear our own conscience over the horrific killings that happened last Monday. My dear Filipinos, we all know how proud we are of being known as hospitable people and we know and feel for a fact that nobody, and I mean NOBODY wanted this to happen, to our foreign guests, above all. But it did, unfortunately. As much as we’d like to go back and correct our misdoings, we just simply cannot. We are standing face to face with hostility. The Filipino people are all just victims of circumstances because of unwise decisions of one of our brothers. We are all praying for hatred to leave us be. We are all mourning the deaths of our unfortunate guests. We all wish all the good things for the Philippines. But you know what, WE CAN DO SO MUCH MORE THAN THAT! I don’t know what, I cannot prescribe you a list, but hey, in our own small way, WE CAN DO SOMETHING to clear the name of our country. Let’s DO SOMETHING to make us be loud and proud to say WE ARE FILIPINOS once again without fear of being ridiculed or cursed for our past mistakes. LET’S BE EXCELLENT IN OUR OWN WAYS, IN ANY WAY THAT WE CAN. WE ARE FILIPINOS! WE CAN DO ANYTHING!
