Aah! Weddings!
I love ‘em, but they don’t make me cry.
Well, maybe because of the fact that I’ve been to sooo many weddings in my life so far that I lost the degree nervousness needed for nervous breakdowns. Maybe my unshakable concentration on my singing during the course of the ceremony disabled me to be all tearjerky on these events. But don’t get me wrong, I am still fascinated about the romance going on in the exchange of vows, bridal march and the first kiss as a married couple. Plus, seeing the welling eyes of women in the church and at the wedding reception does bring amusement to me, amazement too, as to why I am not “that” intensely moved by those scenes to break into tears.
This afternoon, I’m hitting the road to Pampanga together with my bro, Kuya Pong, to attend our uncle’s wedding (as you know, in the Philippines, we still encourage calling family unc or aunt even though we have, say, 4 or 5 years age gap.) His name’s DJ Torres. Truth is, I remember so little about him, though my mom told me we quite bonded well back in the 90s. Which suddenly made me recall that one sleepover in Las PiƱas when we were playing Tomb Raider on his Windows 95 personal computer. Mrs. Pitt was still Girl, Interrupted back in those days, mind you! Hahaha, the good ol’ glory days of Winona Ryder and lowly PC game graphics.
Anyways, I’m still undecided as to what I’ll be wearing tomorrow. We’re gonna spend the night in a hotel room tonight. I’m just really hoping hard that’s there’s free wifi there. Also, I’m just wondering if they will make me sing. Not that I don’t want to, but that’s something I wanna try not doing in a wedding. And the number of times Ive done that so far is “0”. But if they do want me to sing, I’ll be more than happy to render a song. =)
Why, look at the time! Gotta get fixing! Lots of things to prepare. How about that for a nice Saturday afternoon joyride! Cheerio! Gotta go!
