What the cyber ad really means when it says "sexy filipina"
Whooaaaa!!! Better take a good look at this..
See those two bold words in blue..?
i cannot help but stare.. i looked at it for too long it seemed, that these words doesn't make up much meaning anymore. it's like i'm looking only at some random letters put together - but doesn't fit right, much to my dismay.
Is this the new ad campaign of the Department of Tourism?? GAWD, I don't wanna be mean and all. I honestly mean no offense, but let us be realistic here..
aryt, here's the story..
I googled some articles that would support my motion in my argumentation and debate class. (I particularly searched for "justice system in the Philippines") when much to my surprise, this ad popped into the webpage I opened, and walla, "SEXY FILIPINA are seeking Men.... GO THERE"
whoa whoa whoa!! wait a'second! Can this be happenning in real life, or is it just the caffeine messing around my proper brain function?! Coz if this is really really "REAL" real, then i wanna evaporate right now.. I cannot digest the fact that this... THIS.... is what the rest of the world see us Filipinas.. This is how they think of us.. AND worse, this is how desperate they think we are.. MUCH MUCH WORST of the WORST --- this is how they think we look like!!!
disaster...
and you say technology is good!
shame shame!
REFLECTION : ONLINE ADVERTISING isn't as "mahrvelous" as it sounds. Sure it helps in our economy or whatever hooziwhatsits they'd tell ya, but on what expense, my dear kababayans? Think again.
MOTION : I firmly believe that the government should create a body or board that would screen, restrain and review, and to some extent "censor" ONLINE ads before it is released or published because we never know what this random ad can do the image of our chaste Filipina image, and above all, the entire Filipino culture which is clearly at stake here.
this just saddens me.
=c
